There is nothing more grounding to me than kids and mud, so I try to spend most of my time with one of them. I live with my son and husband in Ann Arbor, Michigan. My life has guided me through many incarnations, as an entrepreneur (RealTimeFarms.com), a jewelry artist (Sweet Plum Vintage), a graduate student in Marital and Family Therapy, and now studio potter.
When I'm at the wheel, I have to be in the moment. It's a simple, beautiful practice I feel lucky to do. If there is one thing to know about me, it's that I'm a sensitive soul. If I care for and honor this, it becomes a strength. Now, it says, just sit and play in the mud. So I do.
Each piece is handcrafted and unique. I revere shapes that imitate natural forms. I am most excited taking a piece from a perfect cylinder to an object that looks like life has shaken it into a thing of beauty, strength, and wild grit. I try to make pieces that are perfectly imperfect.
